Summer League 2010

The Summer League will commence on Thursday 29th April on the Monaghan Road, Cork City. Underage get going at 6.30pm and seniors at 7.00pm. Please contact Andrew at registrar@stfinbarrscc.com for more info.

The particulars for the league are the following:

Title:                   'Karl McCarthy Summer Cycling League, 2010'

Hosted by:           St. Finbarr's Cycling Club, Cork

Open to:              All senior, junior and underage categories.

Time:                   Underage start 18:30

Senior / junior / vets combined start 19:00 (1 hour racing, racing to be finished at 20:00)

Location:             Monaghan Road, Cork City, every Thursday from 29/04/2010 to 10/06/2010 and from 05/08/2010 to 12/08/2010.

Location:           Glounthaune on the following Thursdays: 15,22 and 29/July/2010 and 19,26/August/2010

Note: ***** The League will not be run on the following *****

Thursday evenings: 17,24/June/2010 and 1,8/July/2010. Instead, points for the league will be awarded from results achieved in the three county time trials/hillclimbs (if riders wish to compete in same) on the three Wednesdays of 23,30/June/2010 and 7/July/2010. The county road race championships will be held in Fermoy on 16/June/2010 and 7.30pm.

Important: The league will be run to normal Cycling Ireland rules, where applicable. Riders will be required to wear race numbers and helmets and respect the rules of the road, all as per usual.

THE ROADS WILL BE FULLY OPEN TO ALL OTHER ROAD USERS!

Entry fee will be free for underage & €3 for adults.

League Race is now on the Monaghan Road since 16-July-2009

The course for the league race is changing on 16th July back to the Monaghan Road circuit. Race fees are still €3.00 for senior riders and juniors and underage pay €2 and €1 respectively.

Changes to League Race - New Course

The course for the league race is changing on Thursday 11th June. Would all those participating please meet at the usual place, outside the entrance to Biocell at 6.55pm and follow the lead car to the new course about 1mile north of Glounthaune church. Race fees will be reduced from €5.00 to €3.00 for senior riders and juniors and underage will now pay €2 and €1 respectively.

League Summer 2009

The Summer league for senior riders will commence on April 30th, 2009 and the underage will begin on May 14th. Please take note of the following:

·         (Race held at the Glounthaune circuit with Sign-on, Start and Finish at the entrance to Biocel Ltd.

·         Underage start at 6:30pm, Seniors/Juniors/ Vets/Ladies start at 7pm sharp.

·         3 laps of Glounthaune circuit starting and finishing in an easterly direction at Biocel ltd.

·         Underage €2, Juniors €3 and Seniors, Vets, Ladies €5

·         Points will be awarded 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 for the first 9 over the line and 1 point for all other finishers.

·         Points will be awarded 3,2,1 for ladies when more than one ladies compete. Ladies are eligible for both overall and separate prizes at the end of the league.

·         Racing will be held to Cycling Ireland rules.

·         Helmets and numbers must be worn.
